TYLER CLEVELAND- EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, 15U COACH

Coach Cleveland is entering his 12th year with the Mavs. In addition to his coaching duties, Tyler is the Programs Executive Director. Cleveland coached for 3 years at one of Wisconsin’s largest Schools, Madison East High School, as a Boys Varsity Basketball Coach. During that time, East went 53-18, and made it to the Sectional Finals each of the three years, and won the Big 8 Conference Championship in his last two years. In the 2009-10 Season, East started 16-0 and was the top ranked team in Wisconsin for 9 straight weeks, and ranked Top 10 Nationally, for 6 weeks.
Before beginning coaching at Madison East at age 19, Cleveland ran the summer programs for his alma mater Stoughton HS, and his teams went a combined 102-33, at three levels. After starting to coach at Madison East, the East summer programs compiled an overall combined record of 140-39, in two years.
In his first year coaching with the Mavericks, Cleveland's 16U team (Class of 2014) won the Jimmy V Classic in Wisconsin Dells before travelling to Las Vegas and winning the Silver Division of the Las Vegas Summer Classic. The Class of 2014's 17U team won the Silver Championship at Kings of the Court in Ankeny, and at the Festival of Teams in Ames. His 17U (2015) team won 40 games, while winning NY2LA Extravaganza Minneapolis, Jimmy V Classic in Wisconsin Dells, and a Final 4 finish in Platinum Division at the NY2LA Invitational in Milwaukee. 17U (2016) teams won the Chicago Summer Challenge, and Jimmy V Classic, and won 15 straight games in July. Cleveland currently lives in Cedar Rapids, and is a Sports Apparel Team Sales Rep in the State of Iowa.

ZACH SCHLABAUGH - PROGRAM DIRECTOR, 16U COACH

Zach is entering his seventh year as a coach with the Mavericks. Previously, Zach has coached yearly at Snow Valley Basketball School. Coach Schlabaugh returns to Iowa after a stint in Arkansas (D2-Arkansas Fort Smith) as an Assistant Coach.
Zach graduated from Coe College where he played basketball for Coach Bryan Martin.
Zach is a former Iowa Maverick athlete, as he played 3 years with the program. We are very excited to have Z as a part of our staff, he has great potential in the coaching game, and will do a great job with our Mavericks players. MIGUEL VILLAGRANA - MAVERICKS 17U COACH / PROGRAM DIRECTOR

Coach Villagrana will be entering his ninth season with the Iowa Mavericks program. He has been a huge part of the Mavericks success over the past seven years and continues to help our guys grow as basketball players and young men.
Miguel has coached at Columbus Junction, Iowa City West and Solon in his tenure as a High School coach. He is currently in his third year as the Head Boys Basketball coach at Columbus Community High School, his alma mater.

JOVONTE SQUIERS - MAVERICKS 15U COACH

Jovonte Squiers will be entering his fifth year as coach for the Mavericks.
Jovonte was a three year basketball starter at Lone Tree High School. He played Mavericks for one year during his High School days.
We are excited to have Jovonte back on our staff this season! Jovonte is currently an Assistant coach at Lone Tree High School, his alma mater.

OZZIE MEIBORG - 17U MAVERICKS COACH

Ozzie will be entering his fourth season as a coach with the Mavericks. A 3 year player with the Mavs (2017-2019) he is coming back this year to coach.
Ozzie attended Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids where he was an All-Conference player during multiple years for the J-Hawks. Ozzie also played Baseball for Jefferson.
Ozzie is in his third year at Iowa Lakes Community College, playing basketball on scholarship. He helped lead his Lakers team to a ICCAC championship and a trip to the National NJCAA tournament, during the 2020-2021 season.
We are excited to have Ozzie back on board with the Mavs Family.

WILLIE GUY III -17U MAVERICKS COACH

Willie will enter his fourth season as a coach with the Mavericks. A one year player with the Mavs (2018) he is coming back this year to coach.
Willie attended Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids where he was an all conference player. Coach Guy also played Baseball for the J-Hawks.
Willie finished his second season at DMACC where he started and was a huge part of their success this past year. Willie played at DMACC for former Mavericks Coach, Brett Putz. In his Sophomore season he won ICCAC player of the year honors, and helped take home the NJCAA Division II National Championship for the Bears. Willie accepted a Division 1 Scholarship offer to play at North Dakota State University.
Currently Willie is playing in his Junior year at Angelo State (D2) in San Angelo, TX on scholarship, playing in one of the toughest D2 conferences in the country.

COLE HRUBES -MAVERICKS COACH

Cole will enter his third season helping coach with the Mavericks. A two year player with the Mavs (2019/2020) he is coming back this year to coach. Cole attended Cedar Rapids Kennedy High School and played for Coach Jon McKowen. Cole is in his second season playing at Mount Mercy University.

CONNOR MOELLENBECK - MAVERICKS MARKETING DIRECTOR

Connor Moellenbeck will join our coaching staff for his eighth year in 2022. Connor is a former Maverick player, and is excited to get to come back and help coach with the program.
Connor was a starter at Davenport North High School, before transferring to Davenport Assumption High School his Senior season. Connor was teammates both in HS and in AAU with fellow coach Hunter Grenier. Their 17U team, had a great run in summer of 2014, as they ran the table, going 6-0 in the NY2LA Minneapolis event. On that team, all 11 players went on to play college basketball! That team also won 38 games (going 38-9 as 17U players in 2014).
Connor played basketball at Coe College, and also helped with individual workouts in the Quad Cities, with many young athletes. He is currently working at the University of Iowa Hospital system and owns a coffee shop "Daydrink" in downtown Iowa City.
We are very excited to have Connor a part of our staff!

BEAU KLOSTERMANN -MAVERICKS COACH

Beau Klostermann will be help with the Mavericks for his eighth season.
Beau attended Linn-Mar High School and started two years, and was an All MVC Selection his Senior year. After graduating, Beau went to Northern Iowa. And attended Lineman school in Southern Minnesota.
Beau played one year with the Mavericks during his 17U season, and had a huge impact on that very successful team.
He currently works for Linn County REC as a lineman. Beau will be helping all around, with coaching duties. We are very excited to have Beau back again to help out with coaching the Mavs!
